The Square: Digital. Dynamic. Directly at the Neumarkt.

Ströer and blowUP launch a new digital screen at the premium location of Cologne’s Neumarkt

Ströer and blowUp Media are expanding their Digital Out of Home portfolio with a new premium location in the heart of Cologne. ‘The Square’ at Neumarkt is set to become a high-traffic DOOH platform in one of Cologne’s most central and bustling squares.

Neumarkt is one of the city’s most important transport hubs. Every day, commuters, shoppers, professionals, students and visitors to the city cross paths here. Several tram lines, the immediate proximity to Schildergasse – one of Germany’s busiest shopping streets with over 21 million passers-by annually – and the central location amongst shopping, restaurants and public transport make the site an exceptionally strong touchpoint for brand communication.

“The Square” is being marketed as a DOOH Giant with a surface area of 25 square metres and will be available to advertisers from 1 September 2026. Thanks to its prominent position and excellent visibility, “The Square” offers high visibility in an environment experienced by thousands of people every day. Directly in front of the screen is a heavily used tram stop, which allows for prolonged visual contact. Passers-by, people waiting at the stop and approaching traffic are exposed to brand messages in a variety of mobility scenarios – from the morning commute to the office, through a midday stroll through the city, to the evening journey home.

“Neumarkt is one of Cologne’s liveliest and most iconic locations. This unique location makes ‘The Square’ an exceptionally powerful DOOH platform for brand communication. Here, brands become part of everyday urban life and leave a lasting impression,” says Katrin Robertson, CEO of the blowUP media Group.

It is precisely the public presence of DOOH that has a special impact: people see brand messages whilst knowing that many others are seeing them too. This shared perception creates relevance, builds trust and anchors brands in everyday urban life. At a time when Digital Out of Home already accounts for 44 per cent of the total Out of Home market and continues to grow, this form of brand communication is becoming increasingly indispensable.
