Green Line

Sustainable Giant Poster Material

Tailor-made for every market

With our “Green Line”, we are focusing on innovative materials across Europe to minimise the ecological footprint of large-format outdoor advertising. Our local product names are grouped under the Green Line umbrella brand: Green Line in Germany, Biotex in the UK and ECHO® in Benelux. We select the most sustainable solution for each market, adapted to local infrastructure and recycling options.

Germany: Green Line – PVC-free as standard

In Germany, PVC-free material is our green standard – at no extra cost. Depending on the product type, our Giant Posters are made from up to 100% recycled materials, such as recycled polyester. Compared to the PVC material used in the past, our Green Line has enabled us to reduce the CO2e emissions of our Giant Posters production by 60 – 80%* per m². Together with our printing partner, we are continuously working to test innovative and even more environmentally friendly materials.

Recycling these materials is currently not possible due to high processing expense – they are thermally utilised. However, we are actively working with renowned research and development companies on a recycling solution.

Netherlands & Belgium: ECHO® – made from 100 % recycled PET bottles

In the Benelux countries, we rely on ECHO®, a completely PVC-free material made from 100% recycled PET bottles. Since 2016, over 86 tons of PET bottles have been processed and more than 107 tons of PVC have been saved.* ECHO® has also enabled us to reduce CO2e emissions by 80% compared to PVC.**

As in Germany, the Giant Posters are thermally recycled after the campaign. We are also working on innovative recycling solutions in Benelux.

UK: Biotex – bio-based and 100 % recyclable

In the UK, we use Biotex, a bio-attributed PVC material made from wood waste (instead of fossil sources) and 100% recycled polyester. Biotex is fully recyclable and enables a true circular economy: after use, the posters are processed into new raw materials in plastic agglomerators – without any chemical decomposition.

Biotex reduces CO₂e emissions by more than 60%* compared to our previous banner materials while offering high weather resistance, brilliant print quality and fire safety certification.

Our promise: reduction of the ecological footprint

Whether PVC-free or bio-based – blowUP media always opts for the most sustainable solution per market. The focus is not on the material, but on the effect: CO₂e reduction, recyclability and resource conservation.
