Rituals Cosmetics relies on Giant Posters made of marine plastic

The lifestyle and wellbeing brand impresses with a sustainable OOH campaign

7th March 2022

The global lifestyle and wellbeing brand with great ambitions in terms of sustainability is blowUP media’s first client to rely on the sustainable material Green Line OCEAN, which actively contributes to reducing marine waste. For the 216m² Giant Poster in Cologne at Neumarkt, 43 kg of marine waste was collected and over 5,000 PET bottles were recycled.

Rituals is thus creating a significant moment in the Out of Home industry: the most innovative and sustainable material in outdoor advertising makes the Giant Poster a win-win model for the environment and brands alike. With its conspicuous campaign “The Ritual of Jing”, the brand not only achieves maximum awareness among the shopping-savvy target group in Cologne city center – it also supports the SEAQUAL INITIATIVE in its mission to free the oceans from marine waste.

“With our sustainable products such as Green Line OCEAN, we offer brands a lever to significantly improve the CO2 balance of their marketing activities and even achieve a positive effect on the environment with large-format outdoor advertising,” says Katrin Robertson, CEO of the blowUP media group.

The campaign was realized by Mediaplus Köln GmbH & Co. KG for client Rituals.

SEAQUAL INITIATIVE – Together for a clean ocean

SEAQUAL INITIATIVE works with NGOs, fishermen, authorities and local communities to help clean our oceans. Marine litter from our beaches, ocean floor and surface, rivers and estuaries, is collected by clean-up programs. It is then sorted into different material types and the plastic portion is cleaned and transformed into SEAQUAL® MARINE PLASTIC. Manufacturers certified by the SEAQUAL INITIATIVE produce the high-tech yarn SEAQUAL® YARN from the collected waste, which is then processed by companies in numerous industries into sustainable products.
